Questions

Before you install.

  • Is it free?

Yes. Ava Copilot costs nothing and needs no account. You pay your model provider for what you use, or nothing if you run a model on your own computer.

  • Which browsers and systems does it work on?

Brave, Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge, on macOS, Linux and Windows. For now it is installed as an unpacked extension; a Chrome Web Store listing is planned.

  • Which AI models can it use?

Local models through Ollama or LM Studio, or cloud models from OpenRouter, NVIDIA, OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, xAI, DeepSeek and Azure with your own key, or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint. You can choose a different model for each chat.

  • Can it send, post or buy something without me?

Not as it ships. Every send, post, form submission, deletion, purchase and permission change stops at a card until you hold the button or click twice. Each kind can be switched off in Settings, and helper agents refuse to run unless all of them are on. Routines and agents put those steps in your Inbox instead.

  • What does it send, and to whom?

Your task and the parts of the page it needs go to the model provider you chose. Nothing goes to us: there is no server, no account and no analytics.

  • Does it read my passwords or cookies?

No. It does not read or send cookies or saved logins, and it never types into a password field. Sign-ins, CAPTCHAs and one-time codes are handed back to you.

  • Which tools can it connect to?

GitHub, Linear, Notion, Slack, Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Drive are built in, and any other MCP server can be added by its address. A connector tool that would change something asks first, and a new or changed tool stays off until you turn it on.

  • What is Ava Brain?

An optional companion for macOS. It runs code for your routines in a Docker sandbox on your Mac and shows what it builds in Avi Studio. Ava Copilot works fully without it.

  • How is it related to Nanobrowser?

Ava Copilot is a fork of Nanobrowser, the open-source browser agent (Apache-2.0). It adds the confirmation gate, threads, meeting notes, memory, voice, routines and agents, and removes analytics.

Read the tour

Everything Ava says, in order.

  1. HelloHi, I'm Ava. I work in your browser's side panel, on the pages you already use. Scroll, and I'll show you around.
  2. The gateHere's my one rule. I can read, click and type for you, but before anything is sent, posted, bought or deleted, I stop and wait for your click.
  3. Every stepEvery step I take is drawn as a trail, so you always know where I am. If a page needs your sign-in, I hand it to you, and you can stop me at any step.
  4. VoiceYou can talk to me, too. Just say “Hey Ava”: the wake word is heard on your computer. Or dictate, and edit the words before you send.
  5. MemoryI take notes in your calls, and I remember the pages you saved. Ask me what was decided, and I'll show you exactly where it came from.
  6. Routines and agentsDescribe a routine in one sentence, and I'll draw it and run it on schedule. Anything that would post waits in your Inbox, for you.
  7. ModelsChoose the model that thinks for me: one on your own computer, or a cloud model with your own key. No subscription, and no account.
  8. IntegrationsI work with the tools you already use, like Gmail, Drive, Slack, GitHub and Notion, or any MCP server. If a tool would change something, I ask first.
  9. PrivacyAnd there's no server of ours to find. Your chats, notes and keys stay in your browser, and the rest goes only where you send it.
  10. InstallThat's the tour. One command installs me, and one click turns me on. I'll be in your side panel, waiting for your click.
